Thank you for choosing the Old Market Inn. We look forward to welcoming you to Port Fairy.

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made at the Old Market Inn. By confirming a booking, you agree to the following terms.

 

Booking & Guests

  • The person making the booking must be at least 18 years of age and is responsible for the booking and all guests staying in the suite.

  • The Old Market Inn is an adults-only property. All guests must be aged 18 years or over.

  • Each suite has a maximum occupancy of two guests.

  • Only guests included in the reservation may stay overnight.

  • Additional guests or visitors are not permitted without prior approval.

  • Bookings may not be transferred to another person without prior approval.

 

Guest Communication & Self Check-in

  • The Old Market Inn does not have a reception desk. Check-in and check-out are completed independently by guests.

  • All information required for your stay, including check-in instructions, access details and other important information, will be provided by email before your arrival.

  • Guests are responsible for providing a valid and regularly monitored email address when making a booking.

  • Please ensure you have access to the email address provided at the time of booking, as important information relating to your stay will be sent there.

  • Guests are responsible for reviewing the arrival information provided before their stay. If you have any difficulty accessing the property or have not received your arrival information, please contact us before or upon arrival so we can assist.

 

Check-in & Check-out

  • Check-in is from 3:00 pm.

  • Check-out is by 11:00 am.

  • Early check-in or late check-out may be available by prior arrangement and is subject to availability.

  • Guests are required to follow the self check-in and check-out instructions provided prior to arrival.

 

Caring for the Property

The Old Market Inn is a carefully restored historic property. We ask guests to treat the property, furnishings and belongings with care.

  • Please leave the suite in a reasonable condition and dispose of any rubbish appropriately.

  • If something is accidentally damaged or broken during your stay, please let us know as soon as possible. We understand that accidents happen.

  • Guests may be charged for significant damage, loss or breakage caused during their stay, other than reasonable wear and tear.

  • Additional charges may apply where a suite requires cleaning substantially beyond what would ordinarily be expected following a stay.

 

Parties, Visitors & Noise

The Old Market Inn is a peaceful property located within a residential neighbourhood. We ask all guests to be considerate of other guests and our neighbours.

  • Parties, events and gatherings are not permitted.

  • The maximum occupancy of each suite must not be exceeded.

  • Additional visitors are not permitted without prior approval.

  • Excessive noise or disruptive behaviour is not permitted.

  • Please keep noise to a minimum, particularly between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am.

  • Guests may be asked to reduce excessive noise or disruptive behaviour.

  • Serious or repeated disturbance may result in the booking being terminated without refund.

 

Smoking & Vaping

  • The Old Market Inn is a non-smoking property.

  • Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside any suite or elsewhere inside the property.

  • Guests are asked to dispose of smoking materials safely and responsibly.

 

Pets

  • Pets are not permitted at the Old Market Inn.

  • This includes pets visiting the property, unless specifically approved in advance.

 

Parking

  • Complimentary on-site parking is available for guests.

  • Please park considerately and ensure that access to the property and other vehicles is not obstructed.

  • Guests are responsible for their vehicles and belongings.

 

Safety

  • A first aid kit and fire safety equipment are provided in each suite.

  • Guests should familiarise themselves with the location of the first aid kit, fire safety equipment and emergency information upon arrival.

  • Where a fireplace is provided, guests must use it responsibly and follow the fireplace safety instructions provided in the suite.

  • Fireplaces must not be left unattended while in use and must be fully extinguished before leaving the suite or going to bed.

  • The Old Market Inn is a historic property and includes stairs, original flooring and other features that may require additional care.

  • Guests are responsible for taking reasonable care of themselves and their belongings while staying at the property.

 

Personal Belongings

  • Guests are responsible for their personal belongings during their stay.

  • The Old Market Inn accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings, except where required by law.

  • If you leave an item behind, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to assist with its return.

  • Any postage or reasonable costs associated with returning an item may apply.

 

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change and offer the following cancellation terms:​

  • 14 days or more before arrival: Cancel free of charge.

  • Less than 14 days before arrival: 50% of the total booking amount will be charged to the credit card used to make the reservation.

  • Cancellation on the day of arrival: No refund will be provided and the full booking amount will be charged.

  • No-show: The full booking amount will be charged.

If you need to cancel or change your booking, please contact us as soon as possible.

Where a booking has been made through a third-party booking platform, that platform's own booking and cancellation terms may also apply.

 

Changes to Your Booking

  • Requests to change booking dates, guest numbers or other reservation details are subject to availability.

  • Changes may result in a change to the applicable nightly rate or total booking cost.

  • We will do our best to accommodate reasonable requests, but changes cannot be guaranteed.

 

Breach of Terms

We reserve the right to terminate a stay where a guest seriously or deliberately breaches these Terms & Conditions, including where a guest:

  • holds a party, event or gathering;

  • exceeds the permitted number of guests;

  • causes significant or repeated disturbance to other guests or neighbours;

  • causes significant or deliberate damage to the property;

  • engages in threatening, abusive or unlawful behaviour; or

  • engages in behaviour that compromises the safety or enjoyment of other guests.

Where a stay is terminated due to a serious or deliberate breach of these Terms & Conditions, no refund will be provided. Guests may also be responsible for any reasonable costs or losses resulting from the breach.

 

Circumstances Beyond Our Control

While we take every care to ensure the property is available and ready for your arrival, circumstances beyond our reasonable control may occasionally affect a booking.

If we are unable to provide the accommodation due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and work with you to find an appropriate solution.

 

Privacy

Personal information provided when making a booking will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Australian privacy laws.

 

Acceptance of These Terms

By making a booking with the Old Market Inn, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

 

We appreciate your care and consideration during your stay and hope you enjoy your time at the Old Market Inn.
